Christmas Ornament Storage on the Cheap
– Hacked by Sasha M. –
Here's what you need:
- 16 oz plastic cups
- Plastic Storage Box
- Ornaments

It's Christmas time again, and we're just now dragging out boxes upon boxes of decorations, trees, garland, ornaments, snow globes, huge snowmen and much more. It is the one time of year that I actually decorate. The problem that I've had for years is putting it all back away.
We received dainty, blown-glass ornaments as one of our wedding gifts and I'm always afraid that one year I will open the box to find they didn't survive the 11 months in storage. I found a Pinterest hack that solves that problem.
It is super simple. All you need is a bag of 16 oz. plastic drinking cups and a plastic storage box. Just line the cups in the bottom of the box (sitting upright), put one ornament in each cup and make sure you have enough cups to fill in the bottom of the box. If there is extra space in the box just add some tinsel or garland around the edges to ensure the cups don't accidentally fall over.
I think this is perfect for glass and delicate ball type ornaments. You could even use tissue paper around the ornament before you place it in the plastic cup to further protect them. I like how each ornament stays separated and has a barrier surrounding it.
