Super Cheap Organizers

Here's what you need:
  • Shoe Pocket Organizer

With colder weather always come all the extra accessories like gloves, hats, and coats. Since I recently repurposed a coat closet to be a pantry, I no longer have a good place to store these things, and over the past month or so, they’ve started taking over the dining room table, living room floor, and just generally taking over the house! And since my 10 month old son’s cold weather accessories are so small, it’s a great way to lose them.

So, I’ve decided that we need a better solution. I started looking around on Pinterest, and found the idea to use an over-the-door shoe organizer. I chose to put it on the hall door in the back corner of the kitchen. It’s usually open, so the organizer faces the basement door in the hallway. I don’t mind that it’s a bit visible, but if I had another option, the most obvious place for it would be inside of a coat closet door.

The more I thought about it, the more I could think of other uses that would help us stay organized all year long! Our dog’s harness, leash, and waste bags fit nicely into the pockets. My son’s shoes can be stored in there. Keys, phone, wallet, and our monkey mat can go in pockets, too. You could even store a couple spare diapers and some emergency wipes in there to grab on your way out!

So far I’m loving it, definitely a win! My dining room table is much less cluttered, and we aren’t misplacing things near as often, although, full disclosure, we are still misplacing things!
